Flight Stick Tester is for joysticks and partial HOTAS devices that enumerate as gamepads or joystick-class HID devices visible to the Gamepad API. Expect many axes: stick X/Y, throttle, rudder, and hats that may appear as buttons or axes depending on the driver. Validate travel before a sim session, then use Analog Stick Test concepts for circularity on the primary stick.

True force-feedback APIs and proprietary HOTAS lighting are outside Gamepad API scope. Binding profiles in MSFS or DCS remain in those sims. This page shows live values only, which is still enough to catch a failing potentiometer before you blame in-game curves.

Flight hardware walkthrough

  • Sweep the stick through full circles and watch clipping.
  • Move the throttle from idle to max and confirm a smooth axis.
  • Click hat directions and note indexes for later binding.

FAQ: my throttle is inverted in the browser. Is it broken?

Often the driver simply orients the axis differently. Invert inside the sim. The tester showing reversed raw values is common and not automatic hardware failure.
