Controller Calibration

Capture stick center and travel range in the browser for a software remapping preview.

Software calibration workspace

This does not permanently rewrite DualSense/Xbox firmware. It stores a local browser profile for visualization.

Browser calibration helpers versus real firmware tools

Controller Calibration on this site means visualizing centers, ranges, and gated outputs so you understand what games receive. It does not flash Xbox, DualSense, or Switch firmware. Anyone promising permanent NVS writes from a normal Gamepad API page is overselling browser capabilities. Use this view together with Deadzone and Stick Drift to decide whether cleaning or hardware service is next.

True calibration utilities from Microsoft, Sony, or Steam operate with driver privileges the web sandbox lacks. Our honesty about that limit protects you from false expectations after a few minutes of axis plots.

Suggested calibration-style workflow

  1. Record idle magnitudes on both sticks without touching them.
  2. Sweep full range and note early clipping.
  3. Experiment with a virtual deadzone only as a temporary mask.
  4. Retest after reseating the cable or re-pairing Bluetooth.

Brand-specific framing continues on PS5 Calibration, PS4 Calibration, and Xbox pages, always with the same API ceiling. For a full button and axis inventory, return to Controller Tester.

FAQ: should I calibrate before every match?

No. Frequent idle checks help when drift is suspected, but daily firmware-style calibration is unnecessary for healthy pads. Measure when feel changes, not on a superstition schedule.
