Arcade Stick Tester covers home arcade sticks, tournament fightsticks, and USB encoders when they appear as browser gamepads. Verify button matrices, joy gates, punch/kick rows, and coin or player buttons if exposed. Encoders vary wildly, so unknown mapping is normal — rely on indexes.
Some sticks expose SOCD or directions as axes or hats. Check both button cards and axis data if directions look missing. Browser limits still apply: no JAMMA bus magic, no EEPROM writes to encoder boards, and no guarantee that every player-start button surfaces.
Pass checklist
- All face and punch/kick buttons toggle cleanly.
- Cardinals and diagonals register without missing corners.
- No stuck directions after rapid 360 motions.
- Idle axes stay neutral if the device exposes analog channels.
- Identify which index maps to player one start when present.
- Confirm eight-way gate diagonals.
- Check for bounce on worn microswitches.
